Now tattooing is not only considered as a style factor but for some it is a perfect method to hide a scar. Many are not aware of the fact that tattoos can cover a scar. Getting a tattoo on a scar is not an uncommon thing, turning an ugly scar into something attractive needs lot of forethought. But it is considered as the difficult and the most tedious process. There is a lot involved when it comes to covering a scar. Mainly it depends on the scar or the skin texture, not only that it is time consuming. Sometimes it may also require two or three needle passes before you can go for a tattoo. It will be very painful than the pain of the usual tattoo. When there is a scar, the tissue is very sensitive and the nerve endings become closer to the new skin type and if the nerve endings are not destroyed when the damage was made it is difficult to have a tattoo on it.

Once everything is set the black color will stay. But there is a sleek possibility of the color to fade from the skin. The possibility of the black getting blotted is more so make sure a very fine line is used. It is often recommended that the persons with a scar tissue may try out with a very small tattoo before going for a large one to check whether the skin is accepting the pigment. If it works out then the tattoo can be further converted into a major artwork.

The most important thing to consider before having a tattoo on the scar is that, the scar should be at least a year old before going for a tattoo. The older the scar better for you. As the tissues when destroyed takes a longer time to heal. When it is old it takes in the pigment in a better way.

Now that you have got your favorite design tattooed after spending so much of time over the design and you are quite impressed over the outcome of the color and beauty of the design, I’m pretty sure you will want it to remain as it is. But as time goes your skin will change and there are chances of your tattoo to fade or lose its color. The main reason for the tattoo to start fading is sun. The tattoos remain the best for a long time if the part is not exposed to sun. Thus the worst enemy for your tattoo is the sun. The more your tattoo is exposed to sun the sooner it fades. It’s always suggested to take the following precautionary steps to prevent the tattoos from fading by knowing certain things and giving a forethought to it.

After getting the tattoo on the skin usually it will be covered with a band and you’re not supposed to remove as per recommended by the artist. This is very important and this will prevent from getting infection.

Make sure you apply the antibiotic cream for at least two to three weeks which will tighten the lines of the ink.

Do not soak that part in the water for long hours before it is fully healed.

Once your tattoo is healed make it a point to keep it supple and moist always. Apply moisturizing lotion so that the skin is not dry which will help the colors look sharper. The dark lines and colors will draw sun and will let it fade.

Tattoos with colors will fade fast when compared to black color tattoos.

If you were not aware of the above details and your tattoo fades you don’t have to worry. You can get your tattoo re-inked after some years. This is just a touch up job which can be done free of cost. This will again give a fresh and neat look to the design.

When it comes to tattoo there are lots of things that one should consider. Whether they want to get a tattoo, will it be more painful, is it worth baring the pain and so on. But the most important thing one should consider avoiding certain mistakes that you may tend to make while getting a tattoo for you. Having a tattoo should be fun-filled and not a bitter experience. Some may not know what tattoo design to choose, before getting a tattoo one should give a lot of thought to it.

Getting the right tattoo at the right place is a skill. Don’t go for a small tattoo in a bigger part of your body. Not only that don’t opt for a very bigger size too. Make sure the tattoo fits the place.

Don’t go by the cost of the tattoo; always keep money as your last priority. If you had to spend little more than your budget to get the tattoo that will suit you, don’t hesitate.

Most of the people do the mistake by getting their lover’s name tattooed; this often spoils your relation.

Make sure you don’t get tattooed when you’re drunk, because once you come back to normal you may not feel good about the tattoo. On the contrary people always suggest getting drunk so that it does not hurt them. People tend to bleed more when they are drunk.

Picking up a wrong design may be a wrong idea. People will have lots of choices available to choose a tattoo design. Search for the best design or design one for yourself.

If you are planning to get a text tattoo then make sure that it is spelled correctly and also give the right spelling to the artist so that there is no mistake in the spelling.

And the last but not least mistake is don’t go by others words, or don’t make any decision if you are not fully convinced.
